Dr.S.Vincent is an eminent scientist, academician and administrator who served as Dean of Research at Loyola College (College of Excellence), Chennai and currently working as a Distinguished Adjunct Professor, at Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences Chennai. With his able scientific and administrative skills, he facilitated the Loyola College to attain the College of Excellence status from UGC, Govt of India. He served as Member Secretary in the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science &Technology, Government of Tamil Nadu (2007-2011)and was instrumental in developing science and technology policy for the state. He established IPR cells in the major universities of Tamil Nadu. On behalf of DST, Govt of India, he organized the “National ChildrenScience Congress” in 2010 as the chairman of the Congress. He has served as a TaskforceMember in 10Member “Elephant Committee” for six years and visited more than 15 states of the Elephant Corridor and compiled a report “Gajah” on Elephant Conservation Strategy, which was approved by the parliament. He is a recipient of the Tamil Nadu Scientist Award (TANSA)for Biology in 2015,
Tamil Nadu Senior Scientist Award-2018, and Environment Award-2012 awarded by the Government of Tamil Nadu for his outstanding contributions to Environmental Awareness and Conservation. He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology(FRSB), London, Fellow of the National Academy of Biological Sciences (FNABS); Member of the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI). The International Economics University conferred on him a Doctor of Letters (D.Litt). The technology developed by him has helped society greatly in terms of health and hygiene in the environment. The recent project handled by him has acquired good appreciation from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. He has completed more than 13 major funded projects. He has published more than 130 research publications in international and national scientific communities with citation records of more than 3000 and H-Index-29. He has 4 patents and 2 technology transfers and 4 books authored. He received Highest Academic Degree D.Sc from the Madurai Kamaraj University in the year 2022. He has an excellent track of academic performance besides serving as an able administrator with a productive vision to promote the nation’s growth through R&D accomplishments.
